“When Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he used to claim that he has a 56-inch chest and that no one will dare to attack India when he becomes the Prime Minister. We wish to remind him of his tall talk. What we
are seeing in Jammu and Kashmir is worse than what it was during the Congress regime,” Sunita Verenkar told media persons.
She also took potshots at Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani who back in 2013 had threatened to send bangles to the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the attacks on soldiers.
“Will Irani now send bangles to the Prime Minister?” Verenkar asked.
During the Congress-led UPA rule in 2013, after a terror attack on Indian soldiers, Irani while addressing a public meeting had offered to send bangles to Manmohan Singh. The Congress has now decided to collect bangles from across the country and have them delivered to
the Prime Minister for his failure to rein in attacks on soldiers across the country.
He said that repeated went unheard and the state government had not responded to the demands for more reservations for OBCs and
scheduled castes in panchayat elections.
