Ahead of the March Budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) will launch a district-level outreach programme called ‘Avaz Tumcho, Sangat Amcho’. The aim is to collect public suggestions and identify issues that will be raised in the Assembly and other forums.

Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, along with Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira and Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa, announced the programme at a press conference.

Alemao said the CLP wants to connect directly with people across the State and hear their concerns. “We are inviting citizens to share their views and the problems affecting their villages, towns and Goa as a whole. These inputs will be taken up during the Assembly session and on other suitable platforms,” he said.

He added that many Goans are worried about what he described as unchecked destruction in the State. “Environmental damage due to hill cutting and rising unemployment among the youth are major issues. The government has failed to deal with these concerns, which has led to public anger,” Alemao said.

Ferreira said the Assembly is the strongest platform to raise people’s issues and seek solutions through discussion. D’Costa said people across Goa are protesting projects that they feel are being pushed without proper consultation. The CLP has invited citizens to send their suggestions by email to connectwithgoaclp@gmail.com or contact 7498 254 726.
