Police nab Nigerian national with cocaine worth Rs 1.09 crore

CANACONA: Cracking a second narcotics case within 24 hours, Canacona Police arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly possessing cocaine worth Rs 1.09 crore at Kindlebag-Tarir, Canacona, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Canacona Police, a raid was carried out on the basis of specific and reliable information between 12.15 pm and 2.30 pm.

During the operation, the accused, identified as Onyeacholem Friday, was caught red-handed while allegedly carrying 219.9 grams of cocaine valued at Rs 1,09,95,000. Police said the accused had arrived on a scooter to deliver the drugs to prospective customers.

He was immediately taken into custody, while the narcotic substance and the scooter were seized. This is the third drug-related case registered by Canacona Police in the last 15 days.
