PANAJI

There may be hectic activity as far as the appointment of the new Goa Pradesh Congress Committee is concerned, but there has been deafening silence at the Congress head office in Panaji.

Besides discussions about the GPCC top post, there are talks that Congress could be planning to form the government, amid the present political realities, but all the noise seems to be absent at least at the State Congress HQ.

Incidentally, not a single meeting has been convened between Congress office bearers, Pradesh Congress Committee and other Congress leaders since the last three-and-half months.

According to sources, Congress legislature party’s meetings have been convened but these meetings have taken place in the office of the opposition leader.

Recently, outgoing GPCC President Shantaram Naik had resigned, but no meeting

Since the last two months, there has been no meeting of the BJP legislature group. The BJP legislature meeting was last convened in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar before the assembly session.
