The State government has issued an order clearing the way for its departments to extend services of contractual staff for a year beyond October 31 this year. The order, however, gives departments the leeway to decide if the extensions can be of a tenure lesser than one year, depending on work load and requirements.
The order is also applicable to State-owned corporations and also the ‘outsourced staff’ deployed in government concerns through the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC), Goa Recruitment and Employment Society and IT Department’s empanelled agencies but with the Finance Department’s prior approval.
