Stabbing case: Police on look out for relative of notorious criminal

Anjuna Police arrest another 5 accused from Amboli

Goa Police are on the lookout for one Manoj Singh, brother of notorious criminal Gajendra Singh (alias Chotu), who is allegedly involved in the stabbing of a Calangute youth, even as Anjuna Police apprehended another five accused in connection with the case, taking the total of those arrested to 10 persons.

Police said all efforts are being made to take tough action against history sheeter, Tarzan Parsekar, with plans to book him under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi informed that during investigation it has come to light that around 12-13 persons were involved in the stabbing incident and Manoj Singh, the brother of noted criminal Gajendra Singh (alias Chotu), was accompanying Tarzan Parsekar during the attack.

He said all the accused persons were celebrating a birthday party in a club in Calangute managed by Manoj Singh on the night of September 30 and in the wee hours of the next day (October 1) carried out the dastardly act.

Dalvi informed that Anjuna PI Prashal Desai received an important input that five of the accused were hiding in a hotel in Amboli, Maharashtra.

He said a team of police led by PSI Sahil Varak raided the hotel in Amboli early Monday morning and apprehended all the five persons.

The Mapusa SDPO said the accused Tarzan Parsekar was convicted under Section 307 of IPC in an earlier case and he was out on bail.

“We have submitted externment proceedings against the accused Tarzan Parsekar. We will also recommend booking him under the National Security Act. And wherever he has got bail, we will submit reports to the concerned courts for cancellation of his bail,” Dalvi said.

He also said that a report has been submitted to Calangute Police about the absconding accused Manoj Singh who is involved in prostitution. He further informed that Calangute police have been requested to take necessary action against the accused.

“We won’t tolerate such goondaism and the remaining accused will also be arrested. These idiots must understand that law exists and we will not leave them,” Dalvi said.

The 30-year-old youth from Calangute, Ravi Shirodkar was stabbed in his abdomen in the wee hours of Saturday (October 1) near the Arpora-Nagoa circle.

He was shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim where he underwent a surgery. “His condition is not so good. We are monitoring the situation,” the SDPO said.
