Did Chief Minister Pramod Sawant side step a question on an increase in water tariff?
According to Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai, the CM ignored the water tariff issue and came to the point of talking about defamation.
“This shows the CM is trying to ignore the relevant issue which is price rise on water. The government seems to be certified cheats. They have promised people of 16,000 litres free water before the election. And post-election and felicitating a defection, they increase water charges for all sections,” Sardesai said.
Interestingly, the CM refused to come clear on the issue of the five percent hike of water tariff while responding to questions of journalists on the sidelines of a function in Mapusa on Monday.
Sardesai said the opposition who were supposed to talk on issues of price rise has been bought over and the ones who are talking are threatened with some cases.
