Six big vessels, locally known as ‘Bhann’, 10 utensils and six water vessels were seized by the police.
As soon the news spread about the seizure of these items, many persons from Marcaim rushed to Ponda Police station to stake claim over the recovered items.
Ten persons from Malwada-Marcaim lodged complaints stating that their copper utensils had been stolen in the past.
According to reports, a Ponda police team had followed the rickshaw driver in the wee hours of Tuesday till Konem-Priol, before the accused abandoned the rickshaw (GA-08-V-0536) and fled on noticing police vans from both sides.
The vehicle owner is suspected to be from Margao and police is investigating
the case.
