MARGAO
Cuncolim Police Station on Sunday told a doctor from Maharashtra to produce for verification all documents permitting him to practice medicine.
The police has also asked the Health Officer, Urban Health Officer, Margao, who is a Competent Authority under the Goa Medical Practitioners Act 2004 (Goa Act 9 of 2004) to submit documents, if any, to prove that the doctor in question cannot practice medicine.
Roland Martins Coordinator GOACAN, who is the original complainant against the doctor has been also requested to submit documents. The doctor from Maharashtra was in Cuncolim for a naturopathy camp when he was called at the police station to show his documents. While the doctor did produce his documents, he has been told to produce the original copies at the Cuncolim police station on Monday morning.
GOACAN Coordinator Roland Martins said the doctor in question was arrested by the Margao police in 2015 over his failure to produce documents which entitled him to practice medicine.
