Crime Branch of Goa Police has summoned officials and accountants of Herald Publications Pvt Ltd group while ordering them to produce the accounts of lottery games of Mexican Housie and German Housie aired on the group s news channel.

These documents are expected to throw light on details of how many tickets were printed and sold, how many prizes were given out, how much money was used. Sources also disclosed that list of persons who have won more than Rs 20,000 in these games has also been asked for in order to ascertain whether tax was deducted at source. Last week, a team of personnel from the Crime Branch of Goa Police led by PI Rajan Prabhudesai and PI Dattaguru Sawant, including officers of the cyber crime police station,
had raided a photocopy and stationery shop located near Azad Maidan in Panaji in connection with the same case. The complainant Adv Rajeev Gomes in his complaint, stated that the public is solicited to buy a product for Rs 50 and take part in the Mexican Housie in order to win prizes worth Rs 75,000.
