Three tourists from Karnataka were saved from drowning at Calangute beach on Tuesday evening.
According to reports, the lifeguards after noticing a group of 12 tourists in a red-flagged zone at Calangute beach, warned them to come out of the waters, but the tourists refused to heed to their request.
Later, three members from the group ventured into deeper waters. One tourist was unable to stay afloat and grabbed his closest two friends, putting them in danger as well. The lifeguards rushed to the spot and secured the trio and safely brought them ashore.
As one of the victims had difficulty in breathing, he was shifted to Candolim Primary Health Centre. The PHC doctors kept the victim under observation and after an hour declared him to be out of danger.
