The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Goa, has deported four foreign nationals, including three Russians and a Kenyan woman, while detecting five others, including a minor, overstaying in the State.
On November 4, three Russian men were deported for overstaying despite holding tourist visas. Two had been convicted by a court, while the third was deported from a detention centre. Earlier, on November 2, a Kenyan woman was deported following her conviction in a forgery case.
During a special drive at Querim, Pernem, on November 5, the FRO detected two Russian men, a Russian woman, a Ukrainian woman and her minor son staying without valid visas. All five had entered India on tourist visas.
Their movements have been restricted and deportation proceedings initiated. The FRO said similar drives would continue across Goa.
