Calangute police on Friday brought Suchana Seth to the service apartment in Candolim where she executed the gruesome murder of her four-year-old son, to recreate the crime scene. A team of forensic experts accompanied the investigation team to collect further evidence.
Crucial evidence was collected during the panchanama where accused Suchana disclosed that she used scissors to cut her wrist.
However, despite allegations and prima facie evidence pointing fingers pointing at her, Suchana has maintained her innocence, telling the police that she doesn't know how her son died as he was found lifeless in the morning.
“We don’t buy her theory. Further investigation will reveal the motive behind killing her four-year-old son. As of now, we know that she and her husband were estranged because of which she might have taken this extreme step,” the source said.
While she was caught red-handed with the body in a trolley bag, she is yet to provide a satisfactory explanation for concealing the body.
At the crime scene too, the source said, she refused to cooperate with the police except that she had checked in room number 404 with her son.
A note on the paper napkin found in the tourist taxi -- in which she was travelling to Bengaluru -- revealed her frustration over a custody battle for her son.
The note, sent for forensic test, had been written hastily in English with an eyeliner. The investigation team is also focusing on other evidence, including bottles of cough syrup, blood stains on the sheets in their hotel room, etc to prepare a watertight case against her.
The police are tight-lipped on the probe claiming 'it might hamper the probe.'
