Fatorda police station in-charge, PI Kapil Nayak has said the police is verifying whether the pistol surrendered in the Sheikh Anwar assault case was the same weapon that was used in the commission of the offense.
The two accused arrested in the Sheikh Anwar attack case, Valley D’Costa and Amir Gawandi has been remanded to six days police custody by the Judicial Magistrate First class, Margao.
PI Kapil said though the accused has surrendered the pistol at the time of their surrender, the police will seek ballistic report whether it was the same weapon that was used fire shots at Anwar near the Arlem circle, Fatorda.
The police are investigating the case.
