Cottambi local found dead in lake
CURCHOREM: A 64-year-old man from Gauthanwada-Cottambi was found dead in a lake at Cottambi-Avedem on Monday evening.
The Quepem police received a phone call from the Cacora Primary Health Centre stating that the body of Pandurang Prabhu Dessai had been brought to the hospital as a case of drowning.
Police inquiries revealed that Dessai had gone to fetch his cattle from an area near the lake at Cottambi.
When Dessai failed to return home, his nephew went in search of him and found the body floating in the river near the bank.
Quepem police conducted the inquest and sent the body to the Ponda Sub District Hospital mortuary for further legal formalities and investigations are in progress.
