Councillors mandated to attend national, state days

The Sanquelim Municipal Council (SMC) has taken a significant decision, making it mandatory for all councillors to attend the celebrations of three national and State days, Independence Day, Republic Day, and Goa Liberation Day.

Councillors absent three consecutive times will have their one-month salary deducted.

This decision was taken by SMC Chairperson, Siddhi Prabhu and was approved by all councillors.

The councillors have been made aware of their responsibility to attend these national and State day celebrations, to instil a sense of patriotism among the councillors and ensure their participation in national events.
