Covid death toll rises to 16 in Pernem, eight fresh positive cases come to light

A 50-year-old from Morjim became the 16th patient from Pernem to succumb to Covid, while eight new cases were detected on Monday.

According to reports, the deceased was suffering from pneumonia and breathed his last while undergoing treatment at GMC hospital, Bambolim.

This is the 2nd Covid death reported in Morjim and other villages to report deaths are Mandrem (3), Keri (2), Arambol (1), Tambose (1), Ugvem (1), Ibrampur (1), Talarn (1), Parcem (2) and Pernem town (2).

Meanwhile, eight new patients were detected positive in Tuem (1), Paliem (1), Nagzar (2), Dhargal (1), Korgao (1) and Arambol (2), taking the total Covid cases to 1,450 in the taluka.
