Covid extends footprints in Bardez

ACTIVE CASES IN BARDEZ 

● Mapusa has a total of 203 active cases 

● Aldona PHC recorded 100 active cases

● Colvale PHC has reported 124 cases

● Siolim PHC detected 114 infections so far

● Candolim PHC has a total of 77 positive cases


MAPUSA

Coronavirus kept extending its footprint in Bardez, with over 75 persons testing positive in the taluka on Wednesday.

Mapusa Urban Health Centre topped the count with 30 cases, followed by Candolim Primary Health Centre (PHC) with 19 cases. Besides, 17 persons tested positive in Siolim PHC, eight in Colvale PHC and six in Aldona PHC.

The total active positive cases crossed the 200-mark in Mapusa and Porvorim, as per the bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services.

The total active cases reported in Mapusa went up to 203, while in Porvorim, it shot up to 228.

Similarly, the total active cases in the other three primary health centres in Bardez “ Aldona, Colvale and Siolim overtook the century mark.

In Aldona PHC, the total active cases stood at 100, while Colvale PHC has reported 124 cases and Siolim is at 114 infections.

The total active cases reported from Candolim PHC were 77.

The 30 positive cases reported from Mapusa were spread out in different areas “ Dangui Colony (4), Dattawadi (4), Carrasvaddo (6), Angod (2), Cunchelim (4), Morod (1), Khorlim (5), Duler (1), Kasarvaddo (2) and Mapusa city (1).

Health Officer of Candolim PHC, Dr Roshan Nazareth informed that 19 positive cases were reported from his jurisdiction “ Calangute (4), Pilerne (1), Reis Magos (9), Sangaolda (2) and Saligao (3).

17 persons were infected with the virus in Siolim PHC “ Verla-Canca (7), Assagao (4), Anjuna (3), Parra (1) and Siolim (2).

According to the Health Officer at the Colvale PHC, Dr Damodar Narvekar eight persons tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday “ Colvale (6), Revora (1) and Assonora (1).

Aldona PHC reported six positive cases “ Aldona (4), Carona (1) and Pomburpa (1).
