Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has stated that the severity of Covid-19 pandemic is likely to persist for the next one year and everyone needs to be careful in this regard. The minister appealed to everyone to take care of themselves and cooperate with others by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
The health minister was speaking on the occasion of BJP Seva Saptha, Valpoi BJP block organised blood donation camp at Valpoi. Others present were BJP Mandal President Ramnath Dangi, health officer of hospital Dr Shyam Kankonkar councillor Sarfaraz Syed, Rasikant Chari, Sehzin Sheikh, Vinod Shinde was the special guest. Around 42 blood donors donated blood at the camp.
Speaking further, Vishwajit said that efforts are being made in Goa to control the disease at different levels. “Goa has launched its first plasma donation drive and this has greatly benefited. No matter how much the opposition criticises, the health department is not indifferent to the control of the disease.”
However, Vishwajit said, “In order to prevent this disease, it is very important for everyone to take care of themselves. In the future, everyone’s health information will be collected through digitisation.”
The health minister said blood is really needed today and has appealed to everyone to cooperate with the government by donating blood.
A large number of citizens participated in the blood donation camp. The staff of the hospital and the blood bank department of Goa Medical College cooperated in organising the camp.
