BELAGAVI
A day after the Karnataka government extended the lockdown to June 7, a Covid negative report has been made mandatory to enter the state and Goans intending to travel to Belagavi will now have to produce a Covid negative certificate.
Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday said a negative Covid test report is mandatory for inter-State travellers coming into Karnataka.
"We have barricaded not only major roads but also the minor ones as was done last time," he told reporters in Bengaluru.
"We have imposed restrictions, especially in the border districts such as Belagavi, Bidar, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Anekal in Bengaluru (bordering Tamil Nadu) and near Mangaluru (bordering Kerala)," he said.
The minister said he has directed district authorities and the police to impose the lockdown strictly.
“I also appeal people to strictly abide by the lockdown guidelines, he appealed.
