The Republican Party of India (RPI) of Union Minister Ramdas Athawale is eyeing two seats in the general election to the Goa Assembly due in early 2022.
Addressing the media on a visit to the State, Athawale said he will talk to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and seek a quota of two seats for his party.
Athawale's faction is a part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and he is a member of the Union Cabinet.
His party has no political presence of note in Goa as such although the party has fielded candidates in a few seats in past elections.
