The Ministry of Home Affairs Government on Tuesday held a meeting via video conference of all the Chief Ministers and other concerned officers to assess the status of vaccine delivery, distribution and administration etc.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the meeting while the Home Minister Amit Shah coordinated the meeting. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant attended the meeting at Secretariat.
Modi addressing the meeting said that the government will accord top priority towards saving the life of every citizen of the country. He said "we are passing through a critical situation due to Covid pandemic." The government right from the beginning has initiated various measures to tackle and made all efforts to save the lives of the people.
The Prime Minister said he had utilized the PM Care fund to procure ventilators to provide for Covid hospitals in the country. Various precautionary measures have been adopted to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country. He called for the participation of all the states with collective efforts to curb and get rid of the situation.
He suggested the participants to submit authentic data and necessary suggestions to plan the course of action. He stressed on the need to speed up testing. He also appealed to the health workers to treat Corona patients seriously so that the fatality rate would come down to zero percent.
"The corona pandemic may last for more time, so we have to work in a systematic manner with a sustainable approach. After all, saving the lives of our people is of utmost importance," the Prime Minister said.
The meeting was participated by the Governors of Union Territories, Chief Ministers and the Secretaries of Health of all the States attended the meeting. The Health Secretaries submitted the report on Covid pandemic of their respective States.
