Motorists using the Ring Road to enter or exit the commercial capital on the Comba-Madel stretch have complained of the bad condition of the road, with sections of road washed away in at least at 2-3 places.
After its commissioning over a year ago, the Ring Road had become the busiest road in the commercial capital via the Margao-Colva road at Madel. The last few days of the monsoon have virtually washed away the road in at least three places, with huge craters and potholes dotting the road.
In fact, motorists have complained of the unmotorable condition of the road midway as the road seemed to have settled down after it was dug up to lay the underground sewerage line.
Motorists are also apprehensive of the condition of the road after a portion had caved in at a spot where an underground sewerage line was laid a couple of months ago.
“The ring road has become the busiest road as people need not enter the city and can exit on the western side the commercial capital. The condition of the road has been deteriorating over the last few days, but the authorities have till date not stepped in to at least undertake the work of soling or filing up the pot holes”, remarked a motorist.
Local residents, who use the road every day, have also complained over the unmotorable condition of the road in the last few days.
Meanwhile, the National Highway road passing through Margao is cracking near the Margao Municipal garden, opposite Marliz Cafeteria, with huge craters hindering smooth flow of vehicular traffic on the busy road.
