With several shops to provide dozens of products at wholesale rates under one roof, the Crawfort market at Porvorim, which aims to be a refined version of Mumbai’s famous Crawford Market, is set to begin operations by May end.
Addressing a news conference in Porvorim, Director of Red Square Ventures LLP Rajesh Anand said Crawfort Market plans to cater to Goan who currently travel to places like Mumbai, Pune, Belagavi, Hubli and Kolhapur to buy from traders, importers and whole-sellers for their retail outlets.
“We are happy to announce this bulk rate and affordable pricing market is coming to Goa. There will be 55 shops at the Crawfort market and shops will be given on a rental basis. Besides shops, there will be restaurants also on the second floor. This will be a refined version of Crawford Market in Mumbai,” said Anand.
He informed that around 41 product categories ranging from cosmetics, perfumes, footwear, toiletries, home decor, stationery, computer accessories and jewellery will be available at Crawfort market at wholesale rates as well as for retailers.
Director of Red Square Ventures LLP Rajiv Chandan Crawfort market has planned a startup programme in association with EDC at Panaji to encourage unemployed youth to venture into business activities.
“Those youth who desire to turn their ideas into a business will have to submit their business plan to Crawfort market and they will be guided to set up their business with financial assistance from EDC,” said Chandan.
