The GCZMA team consisting of Shrirang Zambale, Avast Tendulkar, Avadhut Bhonsle, officials of Land Survey department and land owner’s advocate Govind Bhobe and a representative went around the locality, inspected and recorded the existing structures.
The team inspected the Colomb coast for violations of regulations under CRZ-III areas and inspected the documentation of various structures.
The team told the residents (fishermen) to bring on record whatever documents they have to show the existence of their houses/structures prior to 1991, like house tax receipts, electricity/water bills, municipal fee receipts, etc.
The team members were heard telling the fishing community that this would be the last inspection on the site and asked them to submit any additional documentation to prove the existence of their structures in the GCZMA office latest by Monday.
The team also inspected the licenses for the existence of their storage facility of fish canoes and nets.
“We are bound to submit the report by April 15 regarding documentation we have gathered,” informed a member.
The team was met by the fishing community, besides former MLAs Ramesh Tawadkar and Vijay Poi Khot, besides councillors and several residents.
Meanwhile, the GCZMA officials have assured residents that all residential structures of fishermen would be protected, adding that there was no cause for anxiety.
When the affected locals raised apprehensions and sought to know if their structures would be displaced, despite being locals and not migrants, the officials assured that residential structures of all traditional fishermen would be protected.
