Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao on Thursday launched free public Wi-Fi hotspots services in Cuncolim, Chandor and Macasana in Cuncolim constituency.

During his interactions with citizens after launching the facility Alemao said that the locations were selected following consultations with the public, ensuring that the free Wi-Fi hotspots would be situated in areas where they would be most beneficial and convenient for the community.

“This service will help to enhance educational opportunities for students and others to make best use of the internet to prosper in life. We have selected these places, where there is good movement of public and where people can sit and use the service,” the Leader of Opposition said. 

He appealed to the public to utilize these facilities responsibly and to contribute positively to the well-being of society.

“There may be many students who can’t afford high speed internet. Hence, these Wi-Fi Hotspots will be helpful to them. We need to understand that though technologies like Artificial intelligence (AI) is multifaceted, but it can have both positive and negative impacts. We need to pick what is positive and shape our career accordingly,” Alemao pointed out. 

He said that along with information technology, other developmental works are in the process, which will be begin once it get approvals.
