A couple of families at Curra in Raia village have been literally meeting their water requirement through spring water for want of tap water and water pressure in the locality.
This became evident when the families narrated their ordeal to the BJP leaders led by BJP ST leader Anthony Barbosa with a plea to get the government to tide over their water woes.
Pointing out that they cannot avail of the tap water because of the pumping issues, family members have urged the BJP leaders to convince the government to lay the water line right up to their place of residence and boost up the water pumping mechanism.
BJP ST leader Anthony assured the families that he would immediately draw the attention of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to the hardships faced by the residents of Curra.
“I had come across the difficulties faced by the people during my election campaign. Since Pramod Sawant is re-elected as the Chief Minister, I will ensure that the water woes of the residents are resolved at the earliest,” Barbosa said.
Meanwhile, the BJP Curtorim Mandal organized a free multi-speciality medical health check-up camp under the slogan of "Sewa Pakhwada" (a fortnight for service of people) at Curra, Raia on Sunday.
The camp was inaugurated by lighting a traditional lamp and cutting of the ribbon at the hands ofRaia panch Manuel Rodrigues in presence of Datta Mandir committee member Santosh Sawant, a senior citizen of Curra Satarkar, Curtorim BJP leader Anthony Barbosa, Dr Sneha Bhagwat, Dr Pratishtha Kunkoleikar, Dr Milind Dessai, Curtorim Mandal president Nilkanth Ekawade, Mandal vice president Mehboob Makandar, Mahila Morcha Curtorim president Babita Borkar and other local BJP leaders who attended the camp.
A large section of locals of Curra Raia ward and people from all over Raia availed the benefits of this camp.
Anthony Barbosa appealed to all the people of the Curtorim constituency and Goans to do the necessary check-up on their health-related issues seriously.
