Damaged sewage manholes in Margao pose risk to motorists, pedestrians

This sewage manhole near the BPS club posing danger to motorists.

MARGAO
Sewage manholes at many places in the commercial capital have turned into death traps for motorists and pedestrians alike.

Reason: The asphalt on the top portion of the sewage manholes has been washed away by the rains, rendering them as death traps.

Motorists  and citizens have complained that these manholes have become craters and pose danger for riders when waterlogged.

Fears are raised that the incessant rains may wash away the asphalt of many other manholes, posing danger to motorists in the commercial capital.

Incidentally, the authorities, including the PWD is yet to step in to avert danger and mitigate hardships faced by motorists in the commercial capital.

A case in point is the sewage manhole at the BPS Club-Ana Fonte garden junction in Margao where a manhole has been posing danger to motorists and disrupting traffic since last week, but no authority has intervened so far to undertake repairs.
