Fatorda BJP candidate Damu Naik on Friday welcomed a group of Goa Forward supporters into the party, saying many more from the regional party will join the ruling party in the coming days.
While welcoming Ramesh Pinto and his supporters into the BJP, Damu said the undercurrents in the constituency will ensure the defeat of the Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai in the ensuing polls.
“Many people have joined the BJP in the last few months and many others still want to join the party ahead of the elections. I can sense huge undercurrents prevailing in the constituency, which will ensure the defeat of the Goa Forward MLA in the hustings”, he said.
Party leaders, including Margao Municipal councillors -- Sadanand Naik, Camil Barretto, Milagrina and others were present on the occasion.
