The Maina-Curtorim Police have arrested one Ismail Shaik, aged 30 years, resident of Davorlim, in connection with a house burglary case at Davorlim.
During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the accused was also involved in snatching a gold chain from a lady at Margao, near Costa Factory, using a motorcycle which had been stolen during the house burglary.
The accused was apprehended by the Maina-Curtorim Police team headed by PI Kapil Nayak and, during the investigation, the police recovered the motorcycle used in the chain-snatching incident, two gold chains, and other articles from his possession.
Further investigation is in progress to ascertain Shaik's involvement in other similar offences and to trace the remaining stolen property.
