MARGAO
Day two of the Tika Utsav at Margao evoked lukewarm response, with only a few Madgavkars turning up for the Covid vaccination on Tuesday.
Vaccination at the Margao Urban Health Centre and at the TB hospital also saw poor response from citizens.
At the government organised Tika Utsav in Margao, only 53 citizens turned up to take the Covid jabs on Tuesday. Day one of the vaccination had witnessed around 75 people taking a jab on Monday.
Meanwhile, vaccination at the TB hospital and the Margao UHC once again evoked poor response from local citizens.
At the Margao UHC, a total of 100 persons were given an anti-Covid jab, out of which 72 were frontline workers.
Margao Urban Health Officer, Dr Anju Kharangate informed that only 28 persons who took the vaccine were local citizen, while the rest were frontline workers.
At the TB hospital, around 66 persons are believed to have taken the anti-Covid jab on Tuesday. However, of the total beneficiaries, around 46 persons are believed to be frontline workers and the rest locals.
Blame it on lack of awareness or otherwise, response for the Covid vaccination in the last few days has seen a poor response at the government centres as well as the Tika Utsav.
