The Pramod Sawant-led government has decided to extend the State-level curfew up to 7 am on August 2 even as six more people died of Covid-19 and related medical reasons in the 24-hour period of Saturday-Sunday.
Among the six Covid-19 patients reported dead by the Directorate of Health Services in its official daily bulletin is a 24-year-old youth from Valpoi and a 40-year-old woman from Margao.
Also 75 more people of the 3,000-odd whose samples were tested have been reported positive in the 24-hours of Saturday and Sunday.
A 67-year-old man from Pomburpa, two septugenarians from Benaulim and Ponda, and an 81-year-old woman also from Ponda account for the other four deaths.
Goa’s Covid-19 toll till date has thus reached 3,132.
Meanwhile, Sawant in a tweet said the State Level curfew will be extended up to 7 am on August 2.
The government had first imposed the curfew on May 9 in the wake of the ravaging second wave of Covid-19 infections and kept extending it every week since then.
The administration also kept relaxing restrictions on sectors each time it extended the curfew.
