State Directorate of Education (DoE) set a deadline to all schools to enrol their students under AADHAR by July 8 for availing of government schemes.
PANAJI rrHowever, owing to the rush at AADHAR enrolment centre following the directions by DoE, the deadline is likely to be extended further. r“Already 92 per cent of the students have already been enrolled under AADHAR. We have told the headmasters and principals of primary, high schools as well as higher secondary schools to enrol the remaining 8 per cent students by July 8. However, when we issued the directives, there was a huge rush by the students, especially in Bardez. So we may extend the deadline further as some of the students have been given appointments even till July 26”, informed an official. rIt may be recalled that in April this year, the DoE had issued a circular to make AADHAR mandatory in schools from the academic year 2017-18, mainly for availing of the various schemes including mid-day meals and scholarships, etc.
