The Commercial Taxes Department has granted traders and dealers who missed the bus to file ‘declaration forms’ and transition their taxes paid for tax periods up to June 30, 2017 into the GST eco-system have been granted a fresh window to do so up to November 20.
Laying out the procedure for dealers to avail this grace period, Commissioner Dipak Bandekar, said an application has to be filed before the tax assessing authority on plain paper by November 20.
The dealers need to give category-wise details of the ‘declaration forms’ required and furnish a statement of invoice-wise details of each transaction, including date and number of the invoice, name of the dealer to whom the form is being issued, selling dealer’s TIN, commodity description and invoice value.
Earlier, the Commercial Taxes department had fixed March 31 this year as the deadline but dealers had made several representations seeking another opportunity to apply.
Bandekar told The Goan that this would be the last and final opportunity for the dealers who for some technical reasons or glitches could not comply with the online filing of the pre-GST tax payments.
Detailed procedure to avail the facility is published on the Official Gazette on
September 11.
