Active Covid cases have come down in Salcete to an all-time low, including the Margao Urban Health centre, where cases have shown a decline with each passing day.
Active cases reported at Margao Urban Health centre is 356. This is the first time that the number of active cases has come down below 400-mark.
Officials at the health centre informed that there has been a drastic cut in the numbers of those making inquiries for home isolation kits.
The situation at the Primary Health Centre across Salcete witnessed a marked improvement in the situation. The number of active cases at the Balli Primary Health Centre has come down to 110.
Primary Health Centre at Chinchinim witnessed a drop in cases to 109.
Even the situation at the Cansaulim Primary health centre has improved tremendously. The number of active cases at the Cansaulim PHC area is put at 150 as per the health bulletin.
The Curtorim and Loutolim Primary health centres also witnessed reduction in the number of active cases. While active cases at the Loutolim centre was put at 158, around 152 active cases are being reported at the Curtorim centre.
The Navelim primary health centre area, which once witnessed a surge in cases, is also witnessing a decline. The total number of active cases reported at the Navelim PHC area is 121.

2 Covid hospitals
MARGAO: The number of Covid patients undergoing treatment at the South Goa District Hospital and the ESI hospital has come down to 201 as on Friday.
While around 161 patients were admitted at the South Goa district hospital, around 40 patients are undergoing treatment at the ESI hospital.
Resultantly, the number of vacant beds available in the two Covid hospitals has further increased in the last 24 hours.
In fact, the number of vacant beds at the South Goa district hospital has crossed the 400-mark on Friday, around 407 to be precise.
Similarly, the bed availability has further gone up at the ESI hospital, with the number of vacant beds at the 235-bedded hospital put to 195.
ESI hospital medical Superintendent, Dr Vishwajit Faldesai informed that there were only six new admissions in the hospital on Friday, while the hospital discharged a total of seven patients.
Of the 40 patients undergoing treatment, only eight patients are on oxygen, while another seven are on Remdesivir.
