PANAJI
These 300 workers had tendered mass resignation on Wednesday after the RSS Konkan Prant refused to reinstate Velingkar as the RSS Goa Vibhag Sanghchalak.
Addressing a press conference in Panaji, Velingkar said, “After the mass resignations, it seemed like RSS was non-existent as nothing was functional. The earlier karyavaah Sanjay Walawalkar was removed by the Sangh as he was acting anti-Sangh and anti-BBSM. Till date the Prant had not filled his post. It looked like they were confused. So we have decided to form RSS Goa Prant. We don’t have any affiliation to Konkan Prant but we are a
part of Sangh. We don’t need any order to carry out our work. There is no conviction of ideology to the party workers.”
When asked if the new body has the approval from the central leadership in Nagpur, Velingkar said, “Now we don’t need to take any approval. We will not report to Nagpur at least till the elections. Conscience doesn’t need any orders. And if there are any orders against the conscience, it is not binding on Goa RSS. Let them dissociate us. Still we will function. This is not rebellion.” Stating that the workers have not approached the central leadership in Nagpur, he said, “We have not approached them. The work of the RSS is like breathing. We have done this arrangement because the work should not stop.”
He stated that the Konkan Prant has relieved him of his post without any justification.
“We had started our agitation against the Congress Government in 2011 with a political decision of ‘Congress Hatao’. This was a political response to the adamant Congress government which was the requirement of that agitation. Nobody asked me at that time as BJP was with us. Then why now? If they feel I have committed a crime, I should be relieved with retrospective effect”, he said.
He, however, informed that the RSS Goa Prant will operate independently and all the decisions will be taken by them. “Our first decision is to fully support BBSM till it achieves success. Even if BBSM takes any political decision to make its agitation successful, we will support it completely and it will not be conditional”, he said. Stating that the work of RSS will continue as before, Velingkar said, “Goa has 3 lakh committed voters. Goa BJP did not fulfil its promises. So the way Congress was taught a lesson, the same way we have decided to teach a lesson to BJP. Now we have come to the conclusion that even by mistake we will not vote for the BJP. ”
Stating that the act is a first experiment on the entire country, he said, “The BJP was born from the RSS and not the RSS from BJP. BJP should not take Sangh for granted. Now we are stronger than before. We will report to whom we have to report to at the right time. But we will work as per our conscience which the RSS has taught us.”
