Archbishop of Delhi Anil Couto is among the first Catholic Church leaders from the country to confirm his presence at the ceremonial opening of the decennial exposition of the sacred relics of St Francis Xavier slated to begin on November 21.
Couto has confirmed his participation and others are also expected to communicate their participation in the next few days, according to Fr Henry Falcao who heads the Exposition Committee.
Meanwhile, with just about 10 days to go for the start of the decennial event, expected to be visited by millions of devotees from across the globe, the government authorities in conjunction with Church officials are working overtime to ensure all arrangements are in place.
Attention is now being paid to completion of the road works with contractors working even at night, especially the by-pass road via Chimbel and the Kadamba plateau.
Work is also being carried out along the Ribandar road leading to Old Goa where Smart City work had been carried out in the past.
