Social activist Pratima Coutinho on Thursday demanded that the Fatorda police trace the vehicle which was involved in a hit-and-run accident leaving the two-wheeler rider bedridden with multiple injuries.
Taking up cudgels for the Kuncolienkar family as the Fatorda police led by PI Nethan Almeida is yet to trace the four-wheeler, Pratima wondered whether the Fatorda police would have given the lame excuse that the four-wheeler cannot be traced if the victim happened to be a son of a VIP or industrialist.
Demanding justice for Dattu Kuncolienkar, she said the accident victim has been discharged from the Goa Medical College and hospital, but he has been left bedridden with the multiple injuries sustained by him in the hit-and-run accident. “The Fatorda police have registered a hit-and-run accident, but the police say they cannot trace the vehicle. When I questioned them why they have not checked the CCTV footage of the restaurants at Mungul to help in the investigations, the police have claimed the owners are not cooperating,” she said.
Pratima also made a fervent plea to the people to come out and help in the investigations so that the culprit is brought to book and the family is meted out justice.
