Goan commissioned in Navy as sub lieutenant

Blythe Luis Dias has been commissioned to the rank of Sub Lieutenant in the Indian Navy, 106th Course (Spring term).

The passing out parade (POP) was held recently at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala in Kannur district. The parade was reviewed by Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, the Chief of the Indian Air Force.

Blythe has read for his B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Communications from the Jawaharlal Nehru University and was conferred with the degree at INA Ezhimala.

He joined the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) at Dehradun in 2015 from Class Eighth and underwent 5 years of training. He answered the entrance exam for the National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla and completed three years of joint training with the Army and Air Force cadets (144th Course).

He had to undergo his final training of one year at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, which culminated on May 25, 2024. He now proceeds to his Naval ship to further consolidate training in his specialized field.

He is the son of Group Captain Bolivar Miguel Carmo Francisco Cardozo Dias and Melvina D'Souza Dias, and brother of Blaine Dias, residents of Vasco da Gama.
