Goa's Wild Riders etched their names in Indian biking history, becoming the largest organised group to conquer the road from Goa to Ladakh “ a monumental feat spanning over 7600 kilometers. This remarkable 20-day expedition saw 11 Goan riders traverse 10 Indian states, reaching the pinnacle of Umling La, the world's highest motorable pass at a staggering 19,300 feet.
Their journey began on the idyllic beaches of Goa, taking them through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and finally, Ladakh. The riders were met with open arms and hospitality by fellow biker groups in every state, creating a sense of camaraderie that transcended borders.
One of the most awe-inspiring moments was conquering the mighty Umling La, a testament to the riders' grit and determination. The expedition also included a dramatic one-day descent from Ladakh's lofty heights of 15,850 feet to a refreshing 6,000 feet below.
Led by Asif Khan, the team comprised Rama Raikar, Tushar Kunginkar, Shivanand Bidrakudi, Balakrishna Naidu, Pranav Parkar, Neha Parkar, Preetam Raikar, Reshma Raikar, Rima Kunginkar, and Flecy Fernandes. Together, they not only displayed exceptional physical and mental strength but also embodied the spirit of unity that binds the Indian biker community.
