Paldem Sports Club Curtorim secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Madel Sports Club on Thursday to advance to the quarter-finals of the 9-a-side football tournament hosted by Sporting Club Virabhat, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim.
Paldem's trio of Elton, Ansley, and Seby displayed impressive teamwork, with Elton opening the scoring for his team with a well-placed shot. Madel almost equalised just before halftime, but Samuel's header rattled the crossbar and bounced away, leaving the scoreline at 1-0 in Paldem's favor.
The second half saw Madel Sports Club regroup and launch a determined attack on the Paldem defense. Velenster and Regan spearheaded Madel's offensive efforts, but Paldem's defensive line, anchored by Diago and Showin, remained resolute. As the game approached its final moments, Paldem delivered the final blow. Ansley Mascarenhas found the net to secure a decisive 2-0 victory for his team.
Elton Mascarenhas' outstanding performance throughout the match earned him the Man of the Match award.
