The health officials informed
the residents not to allow water to accumulate in open containers, as it helps breeding of mosquitoes. Later, the health officials sprayed pesticides in the drains and carried out fogging in the ward in the evening. When contacted, Almeida said the health officials have started ward-wise awareness on how to maintain cleanliness around them and spraying of pesticide and fogging. “The health officials will take one ward per day and
the drive will continue till all the wards are covered,” said Almeida. He urged residents
of the wards to cooperate with the health officials and to maintain cleanliness around
their area. When asked about a one-year-old child suffering from suspected dengue,
Almeida said he was not aware about it.
