After Cutbona, dengue has raised its ugly head at the Rangalli-Bapsora area of Velim village.
After a man from Rangalli area was down with dengue fever, another person from nearby Bapsora area was taken ill to the hospital with dengue symptoms.
The Goan understands that while the man from Rangalli has tested positive for dengue, a dengue scare has hit the Rangalli-Bapsora locality with local residents calling for urgent action from the health authorities.
Dengue had last made its presence felt at the Rangalli-Bapsora belt after it had hit the Cutbona area around two years ago. A local resident Vinay Tari said that the health authorities should immediately intervene and spread awareness amongst the local community on how to prevent the spread of dengue in the locality. “We have contacted the Balli primary health center to take all precautionary measures and educate the local residents on dengue," he said.
When The Goan called up the sanitary inspector of the Balli primary health centre to shed light on dengue raising its ugly head at Rangalli, Tulsidas Naik informed that a suspected dengue case has come to light in the locality, but hastened to add that the case is not confirmed yet by the second test.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Health Services has decided to hold an educative programme at Cutbona for the benefit of the local inhabitants on dengue. Naik informed that the programme will be carried out in consultation with the Velim panchayat body.
