The Department of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, is organising a state-wide online competition, ‘AamchiChavath 2026’, to showcase and celebrate the devotion, creativity, traditions and festive spirit of Goa’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and take the unique cultural flavour of Goa’s ‘Chavath’ to audiences across India and the world through social media and digital platforms.
‘AamchiChavath 2026’ features five categories: Matoli decoration, Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Dekhava, Family tradition video/reel, Ganpati song singing and Ganpati Stotra recitation.
Online registration will commence on September 11. Entries for the Matoli Decoration and Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Dekhava categories will be accepted up to September 15 and will be assessed by a jury appointed by the Department.
Entries for the remaining three categories will be accepted up to September 20 and will be judged online based on the views, likes and shares received by the entries published on the Department’s official social media pages. Any use of artificial, fraudulent or unfair means to increase views, likes or shares will result in disqualification. Participants can register and submit their entries through the official QR code. Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners in the respective categories.
The Department of Art and Culture appeals to the people of Goa to participate in large numbers and celebrate the spirit and fervor of Aamchi Chavath.
