Dept warns of power cut to Panaji municipal market

Electricity Department has threatened to disconnect power supply to the Panaji Municipal Market, if the Corporation of City of Panaji fails to pay the pending power dues of over Rs 3 crore within seven days.

A notice in this regard has been sent to the CCP Commissioner on February 8.  
“It is very much regretted to inform that the energy bill pertaining to the above mentioned installation (Panaji Municipal Market) 
has not been paid till date and as such the total amount including arrears accumulated to the tune of Rs 3,12,28,309 as on 6/2/2017,” stated the 
notice.  
The notice stated further, “... to clear the same within seven days of receipt of this notice failing which the power supply to the installation will be disconnected without any further notice.”

Govt to give VII pay benefits to non judicial employees

The Goa Government has decided to extend the benefits of the VIIth pay Commission to non-judicial employees of the District and Sub-ordinate Courts functioning in the State of Goa paying heed to a direction from the High Court to examine the matter.
