The Goa Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the chief secretary (CS) and Director General of Police (DGP) on a complaint filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues over the lack of toilet and drinking water facilities for the police staff guarding the Goa Secretariat Complex at Porvorim.
The chief secretary and the DGP have been directed to appear before the Commission on February 16.
Adv Rodrigues has in his complaint pointed out that there was no provision of a toilet and even drinking water in the guardroom recently constructed at the entrance of the Secretariat at Porvorim which accommodates the battalion of 16 police staff which includes two lady police posted on security duty round the clock to guard the Secretariat complex.
Adv Rodrigues in his complaint has stated that it was very disturbing that this inhuman treatment was being meted out to the police personnel posted at the Goa Assembly Complex.
