Former deputy Chief Minister and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Tuesday clarified that he did not attended the Goa Revolution Day program at Kranti Maidan only because the minister who had used abusive words during a cabinet meeting against him had got honor of addressing the program.
Dhavalikar who in past used to address the functions in Ponda having state and national importance remained absent during revolution day program at Kranti Maidan. However, after the function got over, he along with MGP supporters came to Kranti Maidan and paid tributes to freedom fighters.
Many panchas and prominent businessman of Ponda were present with Dhavalikar. “I was invited for this program but MGP had decided that we should not attend this program as the minister, who had used abusive words against me at a cabinet meet in front then chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar and other colleagues, had got honor to address the program,” he said.
He said that MGP condemns the acts of using abusive language and hence the program was skipped. Dhavalikar also said that it is responsibility of government to make the youth aware of the importance of Revolution Day.
