The duo was addressing the fifth edition of Shri Krishna Vijai Utsav, at the SGPDA grounds on Friday night.
“We light up our homes to usher in Diwali. The year 2017 is not far away. People of Goa will have to unite to burn down the Narkasur ruling the State. Power has gone to the head of this big Narkasur. We have to make bonfire of this Narkasur,” Digambar said, while wishing the people Happy Diwali.
In his brief address, the Fatorda MLA recalled how the BJP-government had tried to sabotage the Shri Krishna Vijai Utsav from day one, but hastened to add that the annual programme has survived because of the support from the people. “People have indeed gone to the head of this government. When we tried to showcase Hindu culture five years ago, they sent armed police to dismantle the stage. But, Fatordekars have lent support for the programme, which is now celebrating its fifth year,” he said.
Sardesai said people of Goa had brought about a Parivartan in the government in 2012 to bring good to the State, but added that what they have received in return is a debt ridden government, full of U-turns.
“Educated youth have no jobs today. Our identity is being sold to the highest bidder. The coconut tree has become grass. This government has indeed become a narkasur. This is the real narkasur. Within three months, Goa will go to the polls and it is our duty to make a bonfire of this narkasur,” Sardesai said, while asserting that the BJP-ruled government symbolises corruption, casinos, prostitution and all ills plaguing the State.
Without taking names, Sardesai took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party, asserting that Delhiwallas cannot decide for Goans. While saying that Toppiwallas cannot do justice for Goans, Sardesai appealed to the people of Goa to usher in the much-needed change in government in the coming election.
