MARGAO
A dry spell on Friday would have facilitated the PWD, National Highway to take up the repair work on the badly damaged road passing through the city in and around the Margao Municipal garden, but in vain.
As the huge craters disrupted smooth movement of traffic along the road, with vehicle drivers trying to avoid the potholes, there was no sign of the PWD from taking up the repair work on the damaged road.
The condition of the road opposite Marliz Care has turned worse with the huge craters hampering traffic movement. A couple of accidents have occurred at the stretch in the last few days.
That’s not all. The road at other stretches, from Club Harmonia to the old Collector building is literally washed away, with the loose metal posing danger to two-wheelers. Similarly, the road in front of the Margao Post Office and near the petrol pump is also cracking as evident from loose black metal lying scattered along the stretch.
