A Chimbel local and member of Revolutionary Goans, Ajay Kholkar, has filed a disqualification plea against a panch of Indira Nagar-Chimbel, accusing him of remaining absent consecutively for more than three ordinary meetings of the Chimbel panchayat without leave of absence.
In his petition to the Tiswadi BDO, Kholkar has urged suo moto action against the panch as he cited that RTI replies clearly indicate that the panch was absent consecutively for more than three fortnightly meetings in 2020.
Kholkar has further cited Section 12 (1) (b) which mentions on vacation of seat by members if a member of a panchayat absents himself for more than three consecutive ordinary meetings of the panchayat without the leave of the panchayat or is absent from the State for more than four consecutive months.
